This is the first time I’ve used WordPress and ComicPress, alone or together, and I have to admit, there’s a bit of a learning curve. I have a vague background in coding but I don’t know much about .css and I’m learning on the fry. Suffice it to say, my major accomplishment today was spending a bunch of time on a big ol’ background image to replace what came with the child theme I’m using, then scrapping it when I caught it behaving weirdly on my iPad. As luck would have it, I found out how to use a single-pixel width gradient by repeating it (which I had originally planned doing), though it took me a fair bit of trial and error to actually get it to work. I’ll probably end up going with something different in the future but I’ll bask in this small victory.
If it’s not already apparent, I plan on exploring and tweaking this kind of thing quite a lot as I get it closer to what I have in mind for this site. Other tiny “improvements” I’ve made include getting the archive calendar to start its week on a Sunday (like the Earth does) and adding links to comics I read. Shirley butt slowly.
