It’s October!  I’m ringing in the new month with continued strip publishing.  Next week’s strip is uploaded and ready to go, which will mark the end of the first episode.  As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m going to take 2-3 weeks before I start publishing episode #2, as I’ll need some time to get everything in order.

I’ve dutifully begun scripting, and it’s coming along pretty well.  That should be done in the next day or two at which point I can start storyboarding.  The major effort on this episode is going to be putting the right amount of time actually drawing it out.  For the first episode, I had left some visual details off for the inking/coloring phases and they never made their way into the strip.  I’m not going to make that mistake this time around and I’m also going to modify the style some.  I’m not sure exactly how different it will look, but there will be some changes and I’m pretty excited about it.

In other news, the premise of the movie Rookie of the Year has become pertinent to my interests, as my shoulder’s pretty jacked up at the moment.  Suffice it to say, they left out one imporant detail:  the excruciating pain that would come from cocking his arm back before every pitch.

So I pulled some strings and found you a new personal assistant.
Oh, no shit. Whaddya got?
Well, it's the son of one of my mother's friends from the old neighborhood.
Blech, really?
Yeah, so that means you have to take care of this one, i.e., don't get him killed.
But who will be my human shield?
We'll get you a nice bulletproof vest.
I'm not really a vest person.
Turtleneck? Cardigan? Windbreaker? Blazer? Sweatshirt?
Ehh...
I'll think of something.
So he's got the job?
Sure, why not?
And you guarantee his safety?
Does the pope have lips?
I'm taking that as a yes.
